This year sees our Volunteer Fire Brigade celebrate 100 years of community service - 1912 to 2012.
Although the first "engine" was purchased in 1905 - a dubious machine at best - a double cylinder chemical engine, the brigade was not formally started until 1912.
They have gone from using a: 30 man hand pump; a horse drawn engine; a Model T Ford (1926); a Model A Ford through to todays modern engines and crash tender.
Throughout all the changes the brigade has been there for the community if times of adversity. they have gone from putting out fires to assisting at road accidents, plane crashes and saving cats from trees.
There are many stories, with photographs, to be told in this exhibition, including a particularly well known one of when the brigade took off to put out a factory fire only to find out that whilst attending, the fire station was burning down.

The brigade will host a public display at Decks Reserve over Labout Weekend. More details to come.
